James Marsters Fans To Raise Money for Project 375 (Mental Health)

Each year, fans of James Marsters work together to express our appreciation on his birthday (August 20). The project is different from year to year and has included charity fundraisers in his name.

Previous years have included the below as well as several others.

Storm Trooper Costume (2009) – Video

Royal Shakespeare Company Donation (2010) – Video

LA Theater Works Donation (2011) – Video

50th Birthday Stage Lighting Donation to Davis High School (2012) – Video

This year, we will be raising money for Project 375. Project 375 is dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding mental illness and disorders. Many of us have seen the effects of mental illness first hand and understand how difficult it can be for those who suffer from mental health issues and the people that care for them. One of the many things they do is work with programs that help schools learn to address and treat mental illness early in life before things turn tragic.

A birthday card including the total donation amount raised and a list of names of those who donated will be presented to James at Wizard World Pittsburgh on September 12th or 13th.

If you would like to participate, you can do one of the following by September 1st:

1) Paypal your donation to the 2015 project coordinator, Jessie, at jjwintle@aol.com and type “James Marsters Birthday Fundraiser” in the comment box as well as your name as you would like it to appear on the card (or let her know if you prefer to remain anonymous).

OR

2) Visit the Project 375 donation page and choose $15, $50, $100, or “Other Amount”. A PayPal window will open for you to make the donation. Once the PayPal window opens, click “Add Special Instructions to Recipient” and type “James Marsters Birthday Fundraiser” in the comment box. Next, e-mail Jessie at jjwintle@aol.com with the amount of the donation and your name as you would like it to appear on the card (or let her know if you prefer to remain anonymous).

About Project375:

75%-80% of children and youth struggling with a mental illness or disorder do not receive the mental health services they need. The proceeds from your gift will immediately go to work through the creation and distribution of our Chatterbox fueled by PROJECT 375 and the Child Mind Institute. The Chatterbox includes age-appropriate resources children can use to understand and express themselves — games, writing and art supplies. The Toolbox shares accurate information through play, and engagement and promotes open conversations that can change lives. We will be serving those who are struggling with recognizing and talking about their own illness or that of a friend or loved one.

In addition to the Chatterbox, your gift will help fund a fully integrated digital journal experience called Mycounterpane to document an individual’s mental health and daily progress in dealing with their mental illness or that of a loved one. They will be able to connect with groups of individuals on the same emotional journey they are on at any given time. Mycounterpane will facilitate their emotional Awareness.
